CVR Releases 'The Choice' Soles4Souls Benefit Song Featuring Steve Holy
Soles4Souls, a Nashville based charity recycling shoes for those in need, has recently announced that they will be partnering with 19 prestigious country music artists, including Steve Holy (see below for full list), CMT, Regal Entertainment Group, and Nashville’s own independent label, Cotton Valley Records, for an exciting charity project. These teams of talented people have all come together to help those in need through a new song called “The Choice”, written specifically for the Soles4Souls project.
The idea for the song came about from multi-platinum recording artist Billy Gillman and his co-writers Dan Murph and Philip Douglas. “This pretty much started out as just a song for Billy,” said Murph. “Then he called and asked a fellow artist to sing on it with him. And that led to another artist. And before we knew it, all of these amazing iconic country artists were lining up to volunteer their time and talent to this song and this amazing cause. The support for Soles4Souls among the country music community has grown beyond our wildest expectations.”
Gillman’s team took the song to Soles4Souls and immediately the project was in action. A week following the meeting regarding the project, the song was recorded in a Nashville studio. “The Choice” is being released on Nashville’s independent label Cotton Valley Records (CVR) through the generous support of recording studio veteran Mr. J. Gary Smith.
CVR, a 360 entertainment company driven by veteran Nashville producers J. Gary Smith and John Smith, currently works with country artists Mark Cooke and Steve Holy as well as Nashville rock band Goodbye June. When presented with the opportunity, CVR could not have been happier to participate.
In addition to Steve Holy, the other artists, and the writers, CVR has gladly waived their proceeds to lend additional support to S4S. “Having partnered with some of the world’s finest talent, CVR is proud to participate in this amazing project," said Smith. "Soles4Souls is a wonderful organization and The Choice a truly inspiring song. One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to Soles4Souls."

For every download of “The Choice,” one pair of shoes will be given to a child in need.
